This determines whether the replacement input amount has 1 element or not, and if so, replaces it with 'has' otherwise 'have'.

If your language doesn’t pluralize like this, you can safely remove this replacement.

The have,has part should be translated to your language if applicable.

Work items and tasks can be used interchangeably in most cases, but work items refer to the actual UI element, so tasks is more general.
